Sun Protection Swimwear

Sun protection suit

Protecting your child form the harmless rays of the sun is your duty as a parent. Over exposure to the sun can cause skin cancer. Skin cancer kills more than 1,500 people in Britain every year.

To prevent our children being harmed by the sun's rays we should be extremely careful when they are out in the sun. Holidays both in the UK and abroad are the times when our children will spend the most time exposed to the sun. Children love to spend the day in and out of the water which can limit the protection factors of some sun-screens.

A visible and effective way to protect your children is to purchase a sun protection swimsuit. I purchased a suit for my son from the Uk website equatorsun, the suit is produced by an Australian company called Stingray, as you would imagine the Australian's probably know a thing or two about sun protection. The Stingray suits have been endorsed by the Skin & cancer Foundation Australia.

The suit is light, soft and cool (temperature and visibly) and most importantly has a sun protection factor of 50+. The suit is also chlorine resistant and quick drying.

The thing I like best about these suits is that you can see the ares where your child is protected from the sun leaving you with only small areas to apply sun-protection. In addition to this they are protected from the sun whilst in and out of the water no matter how many times they go for a swim.

I put the suit on my little boy to see if he liked it, he did, so much so that he slipped his jeans on over the top and spent the whole day with it on - it is obviously very comfortable.

Parenting.co.uk recommend the Stingray swimsuits to any visitors looking for good quality UV protection swimwear.

Sun protection suits are available from www.equatorsun.com and can be found in different colours and prints and for all ages. Equatorsun offers fast UK delivery, and stocks an extensive range of Australian sun protection swimwear for babies, children and adults. Prices start from around £19.99
