Bamboo baby bodysuit - Product Review

I had heard that Cotton is un-environmentally friendly as it is expensive to grow and harvest requiring huge amounts of water, but I wasn’t aware until now how clothes could be made so wonderfully from bamboo.

Bamboo Baby use bamboo to produce their wonderful selection of children's clothes. The clothes are naturally organic, the bamboo is sustainably sourced and grown without the use of pesticides or fertilizers. This is really great for those of us who teach our children about how we need to ‘protect the planet’. It's amazing how your own words echoed back from our children seem to hold such greater resonance.

Had I thought of clothing made from Bamboo I would not have known what to expect. The little bodysuit I am reviewing is so adorable, and beautifully soft, it feels like a silk. One of the clever things about Bamboo is that it is naturally porous and so it takes moisture away from the skin much better than cotton. This keeps babies lovely and cool even on a hot day, which is comforting to know as we do worry about our babies overheating. Even though this is a thin knitted suit it really is all year round weather clothing.
