Private Education Costs Soar
The Halifax group have found that the annual bill for educating a child privately has soared in recent years. The cost of educating a child as a day pupil in 2002 was £6,820, this has now risen to £9,627.
The Halifax group stated that in the last year private school fees had risen by 6%, inflation was 4% over the same period.
In 2002 average workers in 23 occupations could afford to privately educate their children, this has now dropped to 13 occupations.
Parents wishing their children to attend a private boarding school can expect to pay over £20,000 per year, this being an increase of 36% since 2002.
Despite these rising costs more pupils are privately educated than in 2002.

| Private Education I put my son in private education between the age of 8 and 13 because he was not getting the help he needed. Although I intended to move him back when I he was the age to go to Upper school i had todo this a year early as the fees we increasing so much. The confidence he gained from the 3 years in private was amasing and I never regretted doing it for him

Why would anyone who didn't have the money not send their children to a private school. If you can give your children the best start in life they can possibly have. | |
