Bedtime Routine

What happens in your house when bedtime is announced? Judging from a recent survey from Tesco it looks like bedtime is causing parents grief up and down the country. Looking at the national figures over a third of parents either lose or have lost control over their children's bedtime routine. It certainly surprises me to see 13% of children have no bedtime routine. In fact 21% of children living in the east of the country have no bedtime routine.

The biggest problems appear to be in London with over half the parents surveyed saying they have lost control. A knock on effect of this is that problems at bedtime cause a great deal of friction between parents.

The survey was carried out in connection with a range of toys Tesco are introducing. These are characters from the new television program In the Night Garden. The program is aimed at younger children and tries to help them to relax so that they are able to settle down to sleep in the evening.

See below for the full survey results.
