Parents hold key to anti-social behaviour
In the same week a Police chief constable criticised parents for not taking responsibility for their child's behaviour, the Home Office Minister, Tony Mcnulty and Shadow Prime Minister David Cameron have also questioned Parent's abilities to control anti-social behaviour.
A poll carried out for the Mirror newspaper and GMTV found that 50% of British people are more frightened on the streets than they were 10 years ago.
Mr Mcnulty is quoted as saying parents have a "significant" role to play in tackling anti-social behaviour. He told the BBC "People have rightly asked 'where are the parents?'".
In a seperate interview Mr Cameron said "We are not going to deal with anarchy in the UK unless you actually strengthen families and communities in the UK."
