Parenting Practices and Experiences Survey
Researchers at the School of Psychology, Cardiff University are looking for parents with at least one child under 18 months to participate in a new study looking at the different strategies and practices parents adopt.
Time Required: 15-20 minutes
When: As soon as possible
WHO CAN TAKE PART?
Any mother or father, who has at least one child under 18-months-old. Unfortunately at this stage we will not be able to include parents whose child has had the following experiences or medical conditions: surgical intervention; severe brain assault; respiratory complications, retinopathy of prematurity, or necrotizing enterocolitis
WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE?
We are interested in the strategies that parents adopt in caring for children. We are looking for parents to complete a short questionnaire (the Baby Care Questionnaire, BCQ) online. The questionnaire has four sections (sleeping, eating, soothing, and parenting support and advice). The BCQ takes approximately 10 minutes to complete. You will be asked about your experiences and opinions of care giving. You will also be asked for some basic information about you and your family, which will take a further 5-10 minutes to complete.
WHAT HAPPENS TO ALL THE INFORMATION?
Your answers to the questionnaire will be stored anonymously, and only the research team will have access to the data.
