Usually 5 years

4 is recommended but we do sometimes take 3 and a half year olds
What hours do the ski schools operate for children - half or full days?
Usually from about 9.30 am for 2.5 hours, half day is better as young children do get very tired, its hard work learning to ski and can be cold

We have our Powder Pups club, this is an all day crèche run by our staff for our children, they have various fun outdoor and indoor activities - an action packed day and lunch is included.
What evening babysitting services would a quality ski travel company provide?
We babysit for free on the cooks night off.
What childcare qualifications should parents expect the carers to hold?
Most have NNEB or equivalent. Not all our activity leaders have qualifications; we employ our staff on their ability to perform and their common sense.
What childcare ratios would a quality family ski travel company provide?
We provide the same or better ratios than British Nurseries
What time of year would you recommend for skiing as a family (December too cold, April too warm etc)?
It is fine to ski at any time, clothing is of such good quality these days that coldness is not the issue it was.
What facilities/activities would a quality family ski company provide in addition to skiing?
Good chalets, good quality staff, good quality food, wine and childcare.
Do families require specialist holiday insurance for skiing?
You must have specialist skiing insurance
Are there any additional tips/advice you could offer to families embarking on their first ski holiday? (sun cream, thermals, clothing for evenings etc.)
A pair of boots for walking around in the evenings and a warm jacket; I would recommend the jacket in addition to your ski jacket as the latter may need drying overnight.
Evenings in chalets is very casual, don't bring too much! Relax and enjoy.
