Single Parent Holidays
There are many challenges you face as a single parent. One of them is what to do about holidays. Should you stick with the mainstream offerings or try one on the many specialist single parent holiday companies. There appears to be an increasing number of holiday companies springing up to meet the need of single parent families. So how do these companies differ from mainstream tour operators and what services and options do they offer you? Another question to consider is the type of holiday that will suit you?
For many people the idea of holidaying with other single parents is very appealing. With many holidays offering children's club for younger children and older children likely to want to spend time by themselves single parents can find themselves spending time on their own during the holiday. Holidaying with other single parents can help make it easier to find people in the same situation who are more than happy to spend time together.
Activity based holidays are also popular. This is because it keeps the family group together. If the activity holiday is organized by a specialist single parent group then it again gives you the opportunity to meet and socialise with people in the same situation.
Many single parent holiday companies offer package deals designed to make holidaying easier for you. Full or half board deals are offered to give you a break from cooking and other chores. A rep is often on hand to arrange activities to keep you and your children occupied and to tackle any problems you may face.
Quite a number of holidays are based in the U.K. This helps you to avoid the hassle of airports, carrying luggage and arranging transport at your holiday destination. This can be difficult, especially with younger children.
If the U.K. doesn't grab you then there are plenty of overseas venues to choose from. There are also a range of different types of holidays to tempt you as well. Perhaps you like the idea of a relaxing beach holiday or maybe something a bit more active. Winter holidays are also on offer if you fancy the idea of getting your skis on.
You will find holidays available throughout the year including half term breaks and also the chance to get away over Christmas. If money is tight you may be attracted by the idea of shorter breaks rather than the typical one or two week holidays.
A lot of effort also goes into arranging accommodation. You have a wide choice of types of places to stay such as hotels, lodges, villas or perhaps you would prefer to try camping. You will also find that family friendly destinations have been selected with many places offering child menus and also onsite activities for children. You are also likely to find your holiday is made as easy as possible for you with other arrangements made for you such as transfer between airport and holiday destination.
Some of the companies offering single parent holidays have been set up by single parents who fully understand the frustrations and difficulties you can face on holiday. Their own personal experiences also help them to know exactly what other people in a similar situation would enjoy while on holiday.
