Karibuni (Swahili for ‘Welcome’!) is a large and very comfortable barn offering flexible, reverse-level accommodation and lovely views across neighbouring wood and farmland. The barns at West Hartley were converted in 2004 and have been creatively designed to provide a pleasant communal courtyard with private lawned gardens for each of the properties.



West Hartley is located just outside the pretty village of Blackawton, some 5-10 minutes drive from the stunning Start Bay coastline (the beach at Blackpool Sands is just 4 miles away!) and a mile or so from Dartmouth Golf & Country Club. The famous naval town of Dartmouth - with its array of boutiques, art galleries and restaurants - can be reached in around 10 minutes by car, as can the popular market town of Kingsbridge.

Karibuni has 3 bedrooms all on the lower level. Master bedroom with king-size bed and en-suite with shower. The second bedroom has a double bed. The third bedroom is a large room with twin beds and two chair-beds so is ideal for two adults or four children/teenagers. The maximum occupation permitted is for 6 adults or 4 adults plus 2-4 children.

In addition to the en-suite is a family bathroom with bath, shower (over), wash-hand basin and w.c.

Baby Friendly Facilities available on request include: Travel cot (no linen), Baby chair with straps which attaches to dining chair, 1 x stair gate, assorted cutlery and plastic bowls and mugs.

A large, light and bright open-plan room with high vaulted ceiling and original cross-beams. The kitchen is well-equipped with a range of oak units, gas burner, electric double oven and grill, fridge, dishwasher and microwave.






The sitting room is another good-sized room with high ceiling, cross-beams and country views. Two double sofas, two armchairs, widescreen colour TV, DVD and CD hi-fi. Feature fireplace with coal-effect gas stove




With the stunning beach at Blackpool Sands, recently voted 'the best beach for family fun' by Condé Nast Traveller, just 10 minutes away by car, and the award-winning farm park Pennywell Farm, Woodlands Adventure Park, Paignton Zoo, boat and steam train trips all nearby, the area is great for family holidays all year round, whatever the weather.


Outside is a South-facing terrace with extending wooden table, six reclining chairs and parasol, and good area of garden laid mainly to lawn (fully fenced and secure for pets and/or young children)

There is also parking for upto 2 cars.
