Our children's education starts at home, as parents our responsibility is to provide a stable framework for our children to explore, play and learn. It's one of the most basic building block of their early life, and one that has the potential to contribute on how much savings (ergo success) they'll have in the future.

In this section we concentrate on the education of our children through nursery, pre-school, school and beyond. We provide help and advice on how to choose the best environments for your children to learn and grow into happy successful adults.

Schooling starts very early in our children's lives with pre-school classes starting as early as 2 years 9 months.

Ofsted regularly inspects preschools and Schools. This is the official body for school inspections. The reports are available at www.ofsted.gov.uk/reports. The reports detail the school's strengths and weaknesses across the whole curriculum.

Before choosing schools you need to consider at least the following -

  • Is my child quiet or outgoing?
  • Is my child sporty?
  • Is my child musical?
  • Is my child academic?
  • Does my child work better alone or in groups?

All of these questions should help you decide the environment your child will be more likely to succeed in. Some schools are very sporty and some are very academic. A quieter child may progress better in a smaller school where class sizes are not so daunting.

Once you have chosen the best school for your child it is advisable to become involved with the school. Help with fund raising, sporting events and school trips. This will help you and your child to feel comfortable with how the school operates.

In addition to school education subject tutors may provide additional learning in the evenings. These teachers may be required to help your child to reach the levels required to attain good qualification grades.

This section will also help parents looking for guidance on how to get your child into University. We will document the application process, funding and choosing the University that's best for your child.

Education is not just about obtaining academic qualifications. We will document how your child can start an apprenticeship straight from school.
