Hello, my name is Eric Burnett and I have recently started the third year of an MA in Child and Adolescent Psychotherapy. This year, one of the key requirements of my course is to observe a mother and her new born baby. The key areas of the observation will be the physical and emotional development of the baby, the way that the mother and the baby interact, and how their relationship develops over time. At present, I am looking for mother-to-be who is due to give birth in the next few weeks.

It would be helpful to meet with the mother before she gives birth. Afterwards, I will observe the mother and her baby in their home environment for an hour once a week. There will be 60 observations over a period of 18 months. The training will equip me with an understanding of pregnancy, birth and early development, which is a prerequisite of my future therapeutic work with children and young people.

I work as a tutor in special needs education and study at Terapia, which is based in North-West London. It is one of the leading training organisations in child counselling and psychotherapy. I have a post graduate diplomas in counselling, from Birbeck College, and hope to complete my studies in Dec 2019.

If you have an interest in what I am proposing, and would like to have a chat about the possibility of taking part, please contact me for an initial chat via email. I am willing to answer any queries or questions, and then we can a further discussion before you make any commitment to the observation.

For any questions about my course please contact the Course Director at Terapia. The number is 0208 201 6101.

Email is rc_brntt@yahoo.co.uk

Many thanks,

Eric Burnett
