ZSL WHIPSNADE ZOO - Days out in Bedfordshire
Explore the wilder side of life at ZSL Whipsnade Zoo and get up close to the most charistmatic and spectacular members of the animal kingdom. New for this year is Cheetah Rock, a landscaped rock look out, where the public can watch these dramatic fast cats from just metres away in an African style hut, with floor-to-ceiling glass the only thing separating them from the animals.
Set in the spacious surroundings of 600 acres of scenic parkland on the Chiltern Hills, Whipsnade offers you the opportunity to see over 200 species of the world's most incredible and endangered creatures, making it one of Europe’s largest zoos. You can explore by car or on foot and take advantage of our free Safari Tour bus or have an old-fashioned adventure by steam train aboard The Jumbo Express. Soak up the atmosphere as you chug gently past elephant, rhino and yak.
Now the season is in full swing our daily demonstrations – including Sealion Splash and Birds of the World – are all under way as well as talks and interactive sessions at the Rhinos of Nepal and In With The Lemurs.
 From Whitsun Half Term our popular Elephantastic! Display with our Asian elephants is back (from May 24th to September 7) in a brand new arena. Here you can find out how these huge, majestic animals lift their feet for veterinary checks and daily cleaning and learn about their fight for survival in the wild and ZSL’s conservation projects abroad.
