Tatton Park


Tatton Park is one of the North of England's most impressive historic estates making it an action packed family day out. During your visit you can enjoy the 50 acre Gardens, an historic Mansion, a Tudor Old Hall and a 1930s working Farm. The stunning parkland is ideal for exploring on foot or by bike. There are speciality shops including the Housekeeper’s Store which has grown to be one of the best local food and drink shops in the region. During your visit you can refresh yourself in the popular Stables restaurant or the new Gardener’s Cottage tea room for some of the best afternoon tea in Cheshire. Children can also explore the adventure playground which is conveniently located near to the main car park area.

The Hawk Conservancy Trust


A national award winning family tourist attraction for all the family. Set in 22 acres of grounds including a 5 acre wildflower meadow. Over 100 Birds of Prey on view from the tiny pygmy owl to the largest Bird of prey in the world the Andean condor.3 exciting flying displays daily including the exciting Vally of the Eagles and new for 2007 Woodland Owls and Hawks. Children can hold a British Owl, follow our raptor passport trail or let off steam in our adventure play area. Lots of extra activities at weekends and school holidays. RSPB Old Moor


RSPB Old Moor is located in the Dearne Valley along with a few surrounding sites also owned by RSPB. With a wide range of facilities, including a large shop, a cafe, seven birdwatching hides, several trails to follow and even an adventure playground there is something for everyone at Old Moor. The nature reserve itself offers year-round views of a wide range of birds and other wildlife, including fantastic sights such as thousands of visiting wading birds in winter. There is a yearly programme of events, including guided walks and a variety of activities aimed at children as well as open days for families. Many of the children's events provide the opportunity to get outside and explore Old Moor's ponds and meadows for all sorts of amazing minibeasts. The reserve is suitable for everyone with easygoing paths and plenty of benches and resting platforms to have a break. There are several mobility scooters available upon request and the cafe is accessible via a lift. Members free to go on reserve, non-members can use shop, cafe and adventure playground for free. Entrance to reserve - £2.50 adults, £1.25 children & £5 family. Open every day except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. 1 November - 31 January 9.30 am-4 pm. 1 February - 31 October 9.30 am-5 pm.
