RSPB Old Moor is located in the Dearne Valley along with a few surrounding sites also owned by RSPB. With a wide range of facilities, including a large shop, a cafe, seven birdwatching hides, several trails to follow and even an adventure playground there is something for everyone at Old Moor. The nature reserve itself offers year-round views of a wide range of birds and other wildlife, including fantastic sights such as thousands of visiting wading birds in winter. There is a yearly programme of events, including guided walks and a variety of activities aimed at children as well as open days for families. Many of the children's events provide the opportunity to get outside and explore Old Moor's ponds and meadows for all sorts of amazing minibeasts. The reserve is suitable for everyone with easygoing paths and plenty of benches and resting platforms to have a break. There are several mobility scooters available upon request and the cafe is accessible via a lift. Members free to go on reserve, non-members can use shop, cafe and adventure playground for free. Entrance to reserve - £2.50 adults, £1.25 children & £5 family. Open every day except Christmas Day and Boxing Day. 1 November - 31 January 9.30 am-4 pm. 1 February - 31 October 9.30 am-5 pm.
