Moors Valley Country Park

Details: Moors Valley covers 750 acres in the Valley of the Moors River. At the heart of the park is the Visitor Centre, an 18th century timber barn, which houses Seasons Restaurant , The Country Shop, exhibition area and hosts music evenings throughout the year. National Coal Mining Museum for England

Watercress Line Steam Railway

Details: Heritage steam railway on 10 miles of steeply-graded line through rolling Hampshire countryside. We run World Class 'Thomas the Tank Engine' events at Easter and in August each year and are the only railway to have races between the character engines. Weald & Downland Open Air Museum

Details: Our ancestors' homes and the way they built them, their animals and the way they raised them, their crops and flowers and the way they grew them. At the Weald and Downland Open Air Museum you'll discover how the people of south east England lived and worked over the past 500 years. And it's all set in 50 glorious acres of the South Downs. 45 historic homes, farms and workplaces have been rescued from destruction and restored as far as possible to their original form. There is an operational 17th century watermill, and a working Tudor kitchen complete with costumed cook. Children can even out what life may have been like in the Victorian schoolroom! They will also love the open space, walking through the woods, meeting the traditional breed farm animals, watching the Shire horses and working cattle, and picnicking by the lake. ZSL Whipsnade Zoo

Details: Located on the Chiltern Hills in Bedfordshire, ZSL Whipsnade Zoo offers visitors the chance to view more than 200 species of wild and exotic animals in our 600 acres. Among the attractions are Asian elephants, rhino, zebra, lions and tigers as well as our new In With The Lemurs exhibition offering a taste of Madagascar with our lively black and white ring-tailed lemurs. Visitors can take the steam train or safari bus around the site or for an additional £13 you can tour around by car. The zoo is open every day of the year except Christmas Day.
